Learning is a lifelong process

Thank goodness learning doesn’t end after school. I recently spent a most enlightening week attending Bregman Leadership Coach training in the U.S., and though I knew the program would be very good, I didn’t expect it to be transformational.

My mantra, ‘every great coach needs a coach’ came to life over the duration of this intensive experience that stretched from dusk ‘til dawn. I was enveloped by Peter Bregman’s own bright and adept coaching style, while being in the company of some of the most knowing, compassionate, smart and dedicated people [coaching and business professionals] I’ve met in a very long time. The philosophy of Bregman himself is embodied in his teachings and his method, alongside a holistic and healthy focus on pushing past boundaries.

But here’s the real secret – Peter’s method is as hard-hitting as it is holistic, with razor-like focus on getting ‘massive traction’ for individuals and organizations. This isn’t just a business model for Bregman Partners, it’s a way of life. I was immediately able to integrate key learnings to help real clients tackle their most important work.

My major takeaway: coaching – and being coached – is a fantastic means of accelerating us to outcomes and ensuring growth is a lifelong process. Get in touch to see where The Coaching Co. can help you and your business succeed.

"As a parent, I’ve been in countless situations where my kids ask for something and I respond with an immediate ‘no’. Rarely do they give up, and, more often than I’d like to admit, I change my mind.

According to Chris Voss, we could all learn from my kids. And he would know.

Chris is the former lead hostage negotiator for the FBI; founder of the Black Swan Group, a negotiation consulting firm; and author of Never Split the Difference: Negotiating Like Your Life Depended On It.

On this week’s podcast, Chris shares a number of counter-intuitive techniques from his exciting career that can help you become an elite negotiator in all aspects of your business and life. Hear why getting to ‘no’ can be a better negotiating strategy than getting a quick ‘yes’. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Listen here. Or read the transcript.

All my best,
Peter
